Piggy-backing on yesterday's tip, I have yet another Voice Control tip for you guys. Although Voice Control is fairly limited in its abilities, it can read more than just a contact's name. Specifically it can read from the nickname field as well. This means that you can tell your iPhone to "call Dad," instead of having to refer to your father by his proper name.
But wait, it gets even more entertaining! Voice Control will understand just about any nickname you assign to a contact. For example, instead of saying "call Jeff Gamet," I say "call Mr. Cuddles" because he's a cuddly guy. The possibilities are endless, and frankly the comical uses will likely outweigh the practical ones.

Wow. Is this the craziest thing you've ever seen, or what? An iPhone docking station that looks like a slice of bread. With a bite taken out of it. Clearly the work of someone who's (a) very creative and/or (b) has WAAAAY too much time on their hands.
The bottom line is, there really are a ton of iPhone docks out there. Some commercial, with lots of value-added bells, whistles, and gongs. Others hand-made, low-tech, quick and dirty, and just as effective in the long run. And in the end, all serve the same purpose: hold your iDevice in place while it charges and syncs.
Let's help you to choose a dock that will perfectly suit your needs and way of life. Here you will find absolutely unique, creative and even crazy ideas for iPhone docks that will impress you, both in terms of usability and distinctive look. The right dock will greatly compliment your work table or home interior design, as well as simplifying your life.
The iPhone's market share is growing, though it still has a bit to go to catch up with the BlackBerry. Per ChangeWave's most recent consumer survey, the iPhone continues to gain market share in the smart phone category, bringing Apple within striking distance of BlackBerry maker Research In Motion for the first time.

The Tap Tap Revenge empire just became more credible... at least to the Metallica fans out there. Metallica Revenge [iTunes Link] sells for $4.99, but it is not out to make lots of money -- not according to the Associated Press interview with the band's drummer, Lars Ulrich. Ulrich explains that the application itself is really just for fun and that "it's one more thing that'll keep me semi-cool in my kids' eyes for another six months until the next thing comes out."Metallica Revenge: Tapulous takes revenge to the next level originally appeared on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) on Tue, 27 Oct 2009 18:00:00 EST. In the horser...
The iPhone is no longer just satiating the needs of multimedia aficionados or serving as a communication device. Now you can actually become a Good Samaritan at the touch of a button, thanks to all the altruistic applications available on the iTunes store. Case in point, the DonateLive application courtesy Serenity Integration.
Developed by Richard Thaler, DonateLive is an application, which lists all the important information regarding organ donation in your state. Not only does it provide information regarding organ centers in the US, but also gives vital tips on how to sign up for this worthy cause. The application is available for free on the iTunes Stores and is compatible with both iPhone as well as the iPod Touch.
DonateLive may not help people to overcome their hesitation over organ donation, however it may just give them the push they require. Of course one may argue , that given the serious issue associated with this application, majority of the iPhone users may not be tempted to download it. While this may hold true, DonateLive is a noble attempt by Serenity Integration and hence deserves a mention on iSmashPhone.
