Mac News Briefs: Yenco.com overhauls Finance budgeting app
We’re not sure how many pure Windows users are running MobileMe. For those who run Mac OS X, especially multiple Mac OS X machines, the computer sync, Back to my Mac, and other functions make it a far, far better value for the money than a strict Windows environment. However, if you run both platforms, or even if you just love your MobileMe on Windows, Apple has given you a little bit of love today as well. The MobileMe News blog says:
We’ve recently released MobileMe Control Panel for Windows version 1.4. It is recommended for those who use MobileMe for syncing contacts or calendar on a Windows PC connected to a corporate network that uses proxy servers (some corporations use proxy servers to access the Internet). Click here for information on the proxy servers it supports. If you already have the MobileMe Control Panel installed, you can automatically upgrade to version 1.4 by downloading and installing iTunes 8.2. If you don’t already have the MobileMe Control Panel on your PC, see these instructions for installing and setting it up.

MobileMe Control Panel for Windows Updated
Boy Genius‘ ninjas — Canuck chapter — have gotten their tiger-clawed hands on what looks to be Fido Canada’s 2009 roadmap. Fido, which was bought by Rogers and is now marketed as the budget-conscious GSM brand, carries the iPhone 3G, and if this leak is correct, just might next be carrying:
a 4GB iPhone model that will run for $99 and come with quad-band EDGE, tri-band HSDPA, a 2 megapixel shooter and, believe it or not, iChat video calling
The Rogers/Fido network might support video iChat better than AT&T’s but we can’t see Apple making something as huge as that without doing it global, much less on bigger devices than 4GB…
What do you think, is it real, or is it fakaroid?

Rumor: Fido Canada to Sell $99 iPhone 4GB — With Video iChat?!

One of BGR's "ninjas" has captured pictures of what they describe as Fido's "entire roadmap for the rest of 2009". The pictures include, among other things, information on a 4GB iPhone 3G with quad-band EDGE, tri-band HSDPA, a 2-megapixel camera and (drumroll please) iChat video calling. Picture after the break.

The ability to send physical postcards from your iPhone is not a new concept, but the just-released Postino (link opens iTunes) from AnguriaLab adds a new twist to an old favorite -- having the option to send e-cards for those who want to send a postcard, but not bother with the hassle of a paper card.First Look: Postino adds e-card options to iPhone postcard app originally appeared on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 19:00:00 EST. Today Apple officially released the latest version of iTunes (8.2). Anyone who is familiar with jailbreaking should be well aware that now is a time to wonder, will the cat and mouse game continue? It seems like it has but @MuscleNerd claims it is unintentional on Apple’s part.
Today’s iTunes 8.2 update changes the way your computer talks to the device. This affects things like QuickPwn and PwnageTool when they try to identify what’s connected. Also, ssh over usb breaks due to same reasons. Fixes are in the works but for now avoid 8.2
So if you are planning on jailbreaking anytime in the near future, be sure to avoid this latest version of iTunes until the fix is made available to the public.
Stay tuned as TiPb will bring you the latest updates as they become available.

If you own and iPod touch or an iPhone, you might have bought an app, deleted it for whatever reason and then downloaded it again from the App Store. Since Apple keeps a record of your purchases, you were presented with a dialog box saying that you could re-download that app for free.Rumor: Pay to re-download iPhone/iPod touch apps originally appeared on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 17:30:00 EST.
